Poem's Story
If 'poetry is the food of love', then you’re bound to love sweet girl Poem! This beautiful kitty is super playful, has bags of personality, and adores chasing catnip mice! Poem is happy to amuse herself playing or sleeping when you’re not at home, but will revel in your company, (or that of any visitors) when you’re about.
Her recent foster says she loves structured play and has almost a “doggy playstyle”, so she’s no shrinking violet. Learning to read Poem’s body language will help you cultivate a strong bond and aid in settling into her new home, or when playtime needs to adapt to some “independent enrichment”.
Poem has been diagnosed with a heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy, but she takes medication easily in her food to help manage her condition. But this doesn’t hold Poem back from being the most playful, social kitty in Chi-town!
Meet Poem
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This cat will be available at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center (1997 N. Clybourn Ave)
