Chianti's Story
Chianti is a beautiful calico senior looking for a place she can call home. Being a bit of an introvert, she doesn’t require a lot of attention and enjoys having places to be on her own. When she is ready to socialize, she will ask for belly rubs and head pets; being picked up is not on her list of favorite things. Occasionally she’ll show a playful side, chasing catnip toys, stalking laser lights or watching CatTV on YouTube. As a senior, Chianti does not want to share the spotlight with another cat, so she will need a cat-free home.
Age often comes with health challenges, and it’s no different for Chianti. She needs a special diet to manage kidney and pancreatic issues in addition to a dietary supplement to help maintain joint health.
Is Chianti the cat for you? She just might be if you live in a calm, quiet cat-free home and you can give her time to adjust to new people and a new environment. If you are looking for an undemanding beauty and can commit to maintaining her elder-care needs, then Chianti would love to be a part of your family.
Meet Chianti
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This cat is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
