Carissa's Story
Carissa is one special lady! This lovely girl is loving, fun ,and independent, and enjoys shadowing her favorite person for the day and hanging out close by. And if you’re happy to dole out those head and neck pets when Carissa is ready for love, she will purr up a storm as her biscuit factory goes into overdrive!
Carissa can be a bit shy at first and appreciates you taking time to let her feel at home. Her most recent foster stated after fostering Carissa a couple of times, she picked up right where she left off, settling in very quickly, getting back to her scratch pad, and deciding the best place to sleep was in between Mum and Dad’s pillows!
Is Carissa the kitty for you? If you’re seeking a sweet, friendly lady who loves to snooze in the sun, doesn’t need constant pets, but loves attention when it’s “pets time”, you could be Carissa’s perfect match! Carissa's adopters will also need to be comfortable managing her medical needs, as she requires a urinary diet and daily medication to manage arthritis.
Meet Carissa
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This cat is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
