Filly's Story
Is that a skunk? A raccoon-hyena hybrid? No! It’s Filly, a quiet and curious canine cutie! Her absolute favorite things are her daily sniffaris. She’s pretty great on walks and wants to say hi to all the humans. Dogs? Not so much. But she might do okay with the right canine sib. Filly loves and will solicit cuddles, specifically chin scritches and belly rubs. For the work at home crowd, she’s also a great reminder to take your 25 minute pomodoro break for a quick snuggle, because she loves hanging near her humans. Filly is fully housebroken, and well-behaved on her own uncrated.
Filly is pretty calm, but she’ll occasionally bark at passers-by. Her dream home—a smaller multi-family building or a home with a private entrance in a lower traffic neighborhood—should minimize this. Filly asked us to make sure her adopters understand that walks are for sniffing not running. So, if you like to smell the roses, and are looking for an easygoing gal with so much love to give, Filly may just be perfect for you!
Meet Filly
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This dog is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
