Carrera's Story
Carrera is an incredibly sweet 5-year-old medium mixed breed pup. She is very well mannered and knows a lot of commands. She's super responsive to training and has only become more and more so over the last few months in her foster home.
This loving girl loves to run and play in the park but she is also a major snuggler and couch potato- she's not a dog that you would need to exercise too much to keep her energy levels manageable, but she is not lazy and will keep up with you if you're active!
Carrera's only particularly is that she is a little fearful of small children, so a household with kids older than 8 or adults-only would be ideal for her. While she can be selective with certain larger dogs, especially in high-energy environments like busy dog parks, she has shown tremendous improvement as her trust and bond with her person grows. Her reactivity is minimal now and continues to improve as she gains confidence.
Is Carrera the dog for you? She may be if you ready for a sweet, smart dog who loves to spend her days training and then snuggling. According to her foster, she is an incredibly loving dog that would love a home where she can continue to be showered with love and kisses each day.
Meet Carrera
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This dog is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
