Kaia's Story
“Hidden gem” Kaia is as brave as she is beautiful. Shy and self-sufficient, Kaia values having her own space in her home where she can explore and open up at her own pace. Once she has time to warm up, Kaia will be your loyal shadow, politely demanding brushes and rolling over for belly rubs. She’s great at keeping herself entertained, especially if there's a stuffed toy or ball nearby to swat and chase. Her meows range from sweet to sassy (especially around mealtime), but her charm is constant.
Kaia is looking for a patient family who is willing to give her time to adjust to her new surroundings. A safe space will be essential to help her feel secure, though don’t be surprised when her curious nature leads her to start exploring the home! Kaia would do best with older children or adults only and would do best as a solo pet. She’s currently on daily medications to support her tummy and mood which she easily takes in food. These help keep her feeling her best so she can fully enjoy her favorite things, like wand toys, belly rubs, and sun-drenched naps. If you’re looking for an independent feline friend, captivating Kaia can’t wait to be queen of your castle!
Meet Kaia
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This cat is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
