Cascabel's Story
Cascabel is as spicy as her name! This strong-willed girl enjoys belly rubs and cuddling with her person according to her former foster. When meeting new people, she prefers a structured approach, peppered with treats. Once she is comfortable, they are in her trusted circle! Cascabel enjoys a game of tennis and will happily “fetch” the balls for you. Or she can keep herself occupied chewing on her dynabone. She can handle daily walks in high traffic areas. She may pick up a stick along the way which she will trade for a high value treat – preferably rawhide. Yes, she is a clever negotiator! She has a quirky side too – you may notice that she does a little “dance of joy”” after a potty break - she expects a polite applause. This smart girl responds to Sit, Paw and Easy and is currently working on adding to her vocabulary. She is crate trained although she prefers to spend the night snuggled up with her human.

Meet Cascabel
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This dog will be available at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center (1997 N. Clybourn Ave)
