Humberto's Story
Humberto has never met a stranger he didn’t immediately love! According to his foster, this big galoot is just a big ol’ baby at heart. He loves to explore on his walks, sniffing every blade of grass or rolling around soaking up the sunshine. Humberto knows commands like sit, come and down, but would love to spend time training with his new family to learn new skills, especially nose work, which he’d be great at!
Humberto would do best with patient adopters who could continue his training, accompany him on adventures, and snuggle up at home for some well-earned rest and recuperation. And bonus if you’re happy to dish out the treats, toys and Kongs for Humberto when he’s a good boy, which is always of course!
Are you Humberto’s new family, if you’re an adult-only home and can be patient while this big boy settles in and learns the ropes, then the love of this wonderful pup will be your reward!
Meet Humberto
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This dog is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
