Shara's Story
“Shara! A sweet, loving girl with the most beautiful eyes,” says her former foster. Initially shy and a bit fearful, her affectionate, cuddly self emerges once she feels comfortable. If you sit on the couch, be prepared to have her immediately come and lay her head on you! She is ready for cuddles and belly rubs! Shara is the perfect work-from-home buddy, who will gladly hang out with you while you work. When you are ready for a break, she is ready for a short walk. Back at home, she will happily occupy herself with a peanut butter treat served up in a Kong or on a licki mat. Shara responds to Sit, Down, Stay, Come and her name! She is house trained and can handle herself alone at home for a few hours. She does enjoy car rides though and would much rather jump in and ride with you!
This gentle girl has been through some difficult times and is ready for a family who can introduce her to the softer side of life. Shara will thrive in a calm home environment, with patient adults willing to guide her with soft commands and gentle actions. Show her love and she will love you back more!
Meet Shara
Welcome to our adoption event – Rescue Together, A Citywide Adoption Event – taking place on October 18th and 19th. Rescue Together is a community adoption event hosted by PAWS Chicago in partnership with Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and will include various local rescue shelters aimed at finding loving homes for more than 100 homeless pets in one weekend.
Over the past 28 years, PAWS and CACC have worked together to combat the homeless and at-risk pet population of Chicago.
This event will take place at PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center and CACC. PAWS Chicago will be waiving fees for select animals, CACC fees will be waived for the event and other local shelter fees will vary based on their pricing.
This dog is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in adopting please follow the below steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
